SASE

SASE, located in Kent, WA, has been a great partner of Orion. SASE, founded in 1959, specializes in the service, sales and rentals of surface preparation equipment, and primarily serves contractors in the construction industry. Orion has had the opportunity to place several manufacturing program graduates with SASE, recently placing three graduates in 2015 and one graduate in 2016.  Keegan Davenport, SASE supervisor, said, "I trust Orion to bring me the right kind of candidate."

Justin Ford is an Orion manufacturing training program graduate who was placed with SASE in January of 2015. Justin said, "I had the desire and willingness to get a job that was longer than a three month temp job, but I didn't know how to apply and get noticed. Orion helped me with that."

Maynard Jeffers is another Orion  manufacturing training program graduate who was placed with SASE in January of 2015. Maynard enjoys being employed at SASE and said, "Working at SASE has gone well and my efforts are appreciated. Orion was a great resource for me while seeking full time employment."

Dean Guillot is an Orion graduate who was placed with SASE in September of 2015. The Orion training program gave Dean the experience he needed, and assured him that he could be successful in a full time position. Dean explained, "Orion gave me the confidence to get back to work." Dean is happy in his job, and said, "The people make SASE a good place to work."

Eustace Jennings is the most recent Orion graduate to be placed at SASE, earning his full time position in July of 2016. Eustace related, "Orion gave me an opportunity to build my career to better my future. I took Orion's advice and excelled in the opportunity they provided me, which landed me with a perfect job placement at the SASE company. Orion is a great place with an excellent staff that strives to find the success in you. My advice to anyone going through training at Orion is to keep an open mind, don't give up, and move forward!"

Orion congratulates each of our training program graduates on their achievements. Orion applauds SASE on their continued success, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with SASE.

Maritha at work on the production floor at Orion Industries, Auburn.

Maritha came to Orion through DVR after taking some time off to address personal needs. Maritha knew that she would need some training in order to prepare for entering the work force again.

Maritha is originally from Kenya, as her beautiful accent indicates. While in Kenya she operated a production facility that created and tied fishing flies. She worked long hours, supervising a staff of 80+, producing 1000's of fishing flies each day.

Maritha emigrated to the US and worked for several years as a care giver. She then worked for Skills Inc., in their Document Center scanning and filing paperwork. She has always been  a hard and responsible worker, as illustrated by her previous positions.
Maritha takes pride in her work at Orion, and she has enjoyed working in different areas and learning new job skills. Maritha said, "I enjoy learning new things, and working with my hands. Being in a new area means new knowledge, and as I learn a new job I find myself doing better than I thought I could, and my mentors notice and point out that I am doing well, which really helps my confidence."

Maritha shows up ready to work with a positive attitude daily. Her amazing work ethic and dedication make her stand out. She is willing to learn and has been acknowledged for her work ethic by her peers. As Maritha nears the end of her training and has begun the job development process, Bob Manroe, one of her mentors, said, "I don't want to lose Maritha. I wish she could just stay here!"

Maritha said, "Money is not everything, but being able to earn money is. Orion gave me a chance by providing everything I needed so that I could learn. I was nervous when I started at Orion, but I have gone through the process and have gained experience, and have worked hard to be at the level that I need to be at. I have not failed myself!"

Maritha has proven that she will be an asset to any company that wants a hard-working, dedicated employee.  Maritha is hoping to find day shift or swing shift employment between South Seattle and Auburn. Maritha's future is bright!
